Abstract:

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) can be considered as a class of unstructured networks created by a number of autonomous wireless and sensor nodes. The inherent characteristics of such networks have made specific applications, such as multimedia transfer and challenging. Basically, the functionality of a node and very few resources directly affect the delivery of packets which depends on the quality of the selected route. Since the nodes in MANET get their energy and power from batteries or other end-to-end resources, the most important criterion to design an optimal system is energy conservation. The purpose of this paper was to increase the efficiency of the OLSR routing protocol by generating new parameters and considering the amount of nodes energy. In this method, the optimal route was selected based on the remained energy in the middle nodes, the distance between the nodes and the number of steps. Therefore, the present paper used a genetic algorithm-based approach for optimal routing in the OLSR protocol based   on the remained energy of each node. It used the weight factor which has been determined based 111on energy consumption combined with shortest routes. It considered the energy factor of each node in routing and selected the optimal route.

A new approach for energy efficiency in MANET based on the OLSR protocol

One of the critical issues in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is the energy efficiency. The challenge is how to extend the limited lifetime of energy in mobile nodes. We proposed a new approach to minimise the energy consumption called EM-OLSR (Energy Efficiency in MANET by improving OLSR protocol). EM-OLSR is based on the OLSR routing protocol and adds a new energy fairness parameter to the Mult...

Energy and mobility in OLSR routing protocol

We present in this paper a new mechanism for the OLSR routing Protocol, aiming to improve mobility and energy management in mobile adhoc network. As known OLSR use the concept of an MPR mechanism where only nodes selected as MPRs can relay broadcast packet received from their selectors, those nodes have to satisfy certain requirements to assure this mission , speaking of stability and physical ...

Secure On-Demand Routing Protocol for MANET using Genetic Algorithm

Mobile ad-hoc network networks are self organizing, very dynamic network which support data networking without an infrastructure. The proposed protocol provides secure and adaptive backup routing protocol for MANET. Genetic algorithm (GA) is used to find the optimal path from the available multiple paths between source and destination to be used in the case of link
